The move came following President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to settle tax disputes swiftly out of court, Maait added in a statement on Saturday.
According to the finance minister, more than 65,000 tax disputes dating from September 2016 to May 2023 have been settled away from court, with a total value of more than EGP 51.5 billion.
He further said that a law was drafted to settle all the accumulated tax files, thus creating a suitable environment for business and encouraging investors to expand their activities in the Egyptian market.
